Branch Recital report was given by Sheryl Cannon and Mage Lockwood. Sheryl reported that our Branch’s website is fully up and running. It is ready for everyone to start registering their students for the upcoming December 12, 2020 recital. Please have your families go on to the website and follow the instructions. You don’t need to be a techie to do this. There is a lot of information included here on how to have a successful virtual recital.

Mage went through and explained some of the steps to make our dress rehearsal and recital easier for everyone.

1. If your students can afford an external microphone that would be helpful. The microphones in our computers are not made for music. Please rehearse camera angles with your students during their lessons. A parent or someone will need to help with this.

2. Make sure that all the software has been updated. Zoom makes changes about every other day. So even on the day of the recital it will need to be checked.

3.Our branch now has its own Facebook page! This is where the guests of the students will be able to enjoy the recital. We will make sure to let everyone know this at the dress rehearsal. Take a minute and check it out on the first page of the website. Just click on the F at the top.

4.You will also be sent a rough draft of the program. Please check to make sure that the name of the piece and composer are correct.

5.For the recital we are in need of some ambient music so our guests will have something to listen to while we check all of the students in. To avoid any royalty fees etc. we are asking if a few teachers could record some music and send it to the link below. The choice of music is up to you. It can be Christmas, Light Jazz to Popular Contemporary.  Having something to listen to would be a nice touch for our recital guests.
